The Power Of The Subconscious Mind

So the more experience I get as a coach, almost 10 years at this point, the more and more I realize that change happens on the subconscious level…

The more I’m able to get the clients conscious mind out of the way, and not worry about having them understand what they want, and instead help their subconscious create the change… The more likely it is to happen.

In today’s podcast I explain why, and also give you some strategies to use for yourself.

“We use all of it, but only a certain percentage is conscious.”

Whoa, never thought about it that way.

It’s true. 😉 It’s just we don’t believe in it and think everything needs to be consciously controlled.

    This was great!

Ever since reading psycho-cybernetics a few months ago, I’ve been testing a few of these same topics. Coming from a math/business background as a CPA, I was hesitant and didn’t believe it could work.

After seeing each example of highly reputable people (pro athletes and POW’s in particular) I was willing to try.

After a few months and seeing results, I’m sold.

    Thanks for sharing this topic!

That’s awesome! Yeah I think the more analytical you are, the harder it is to let go and trust in the subconscious mind. Glad it’s been working for you!

Very interesting stuff thanks for this episode.
So essentially what you’re saying is the process for fixing an anxiety response to a certain situation/person would be to just observe it happening, shine the light of attention onto it and realise that it is just that, a response due to a badly learned pattern. So don’t overanalyse why it happens and get bogged down just observe in non judgemental way, let the subconscious mind do it;s work but also visualise how you would like to respond in that situation in the future
    Have I got this right?
    Cheers!

Yeah I would say that’s pretty much spot on. Only thing is to watch your language of “fixing a badly learned pattern.” That already is a judgment, there is nothing that needs to be “fixed.” And it’s not bad or good, just unproductive now in your life. At one point it might have served you well, but it no longer does, so you ask your subconscious mind to help you outgrow that pattern and find a new strategy that is more effective to get you what you want. Might seem like a small change, but language is everything.
